ENWAGS is affiliated to a U.K based charity, ENWAYS
‘Enhancing Women and Youth through Sport for Development’, who have supported ENWAGS financially
to carry out some its project activities. It has partnered with ‘Right to Play’ an international sports-based
NGO operating in Sierra Leone; also SWAA-SL, ‘Society for Women and Aids in Africa – Sierra Leone’.
Both NGO’s are currently implementing HIV/aids programs. Regarding development, ENWAGS have teamed
up with URDY- SL ‘Union for the Reformation and Development of Youth in Sierra Leone’ to encourage
and support girls to get involved in sport.
ENWAGS has linked up with the Sierra Leone
Sports Council and some sporting organizations including the Sierra Leone Athletics Association
and Sierra Leone Volleyball Association: to finds ways in increasing the participation of women and girls
in sport. It has received technical assistance and equipment from these associations including the Sierra Leone Football
Association when organizing project activities.
To
help with our project, ENWAGS has also partnered with KIT AID a U.K charity, who have provided
football kits to be distributed to disadvantaged groups who have an interest in football. We have distributed the kits to
women and girls who are part of our program and we will be distributing to schools to encourage them in taking part in sport
to live healthier lifestyles. Obesity is no longer just a disease of the developed world. KOIDU
HOLDINGS SA, a Kimberlite diamond mining Company registered in Sierra Leone which shares the vision of developing women
and girls in Sierra Leone is also a partner committed to sponsoring some
of ENWAGS' sporting activities.
